FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FreeHand
Systems MusicPad Pro® used by all symphony musicians at California
State University Long Beach concert.
The
University Symphony performed three symphonic works using the latest
in digital sheet music technology.
LOS
ALTOS, Calif. – May 4, 2006 –FreeHand Systems, Inc.
(“FreeHand”), wholly owned subsidiary of FreeHand Systems
International, Inc. (OTC:FSYI), the elite digital music company
whose revolutionary technology is shaping the future of the distribution
and performance of sheet music announced that its product, the MusicPad
Pro® was successfully used by The University Symphony Orchestra
of California State University Long Beach. The concert, on April
28, 2006 was the first where all the musicians of a symphony orchestra
performed using this new technology.
“We
are excited to be the first university in the United States to perform
using this amazing technology,” said Richard Rintoul, Conductor
and Director of Orchestral Activities at CSULB. He added, “in
addition to all musicians performing using the MusicPad Pro, we
conducted the three works using the beta version of the MusicPad
Maestro™, FreeHand’s conductors unit.” Mr. Rintoul
and two student conductors, Scott Arakawa and Scott Vanden Berg,
conducted works by Wagner, Saint-Saëns and Tchaikovsky.
FreeHand
Systems is revolutionizing the sheet music performance market and
the MusicPad Pro, the MusicPad Maestro™, along with the company’s
digital sheet music website (freehandmusic.com) provide both a new
method of distribution and a new method of performance.
The implementation of the product in a full symphonic concert environment
is a part of FreeHand’s product marketing plan and helps confirm
the validity of the concept of digital sheet music.
The
entire conductor’s score for all three pieces was on the MusicPad
Maestro, eliminating the need for paper flying around on the podium.
Each individual orchestra musician had his or her specific part
on the MusicPad Pro, providing a solution to the practical problems
of providing printed paper music to over 50 musicians.
FreeHand
CEO, Kim Lorz added, “The implementation of our products at
this CSULB concert is another confirmation that our product solves
many problems musicians have been having for years. We’ve
had smaller ensembles and bands use our product but seeing it in
use by a full symphony orchestra is the beginning of the finalization
of our vision for the future of sheet music.”
FreeHand
Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Freehand Systems International,
Inc. (FSYI), is the global leader in digital sheet music publishing
and is the manufacturer of the first digital music tablet, the MusicPad
Pro® Plus. The pad provides innovative technology to the music
industry for displaying and publishing digitally delivered sheet
music.
